- Sewing machine with presser foot
- Washing machine & dryer
- Phosphate free laundry detergent
- 270+ yards of 40w or 50w cotton thread (white or complementary color)
- Bobbin that fits your sewing machine
- Sewing machine needle [11 (75/11), 12 (80/12), or 14 (90/14) size]
- Iron & ironing surface
- Quilting safety pins or contrasting thread (any all purpose thread will do) & a needle for basting
- Rotary cutter or sewing shears (don’t worry, you still aren’t cutting pieces)
- Small scissors
- Seam ripper
- Pins or clips
- Water soluble fabric pencil
- Sewing ruler or measuring tape
- Batting: size should be 4" wider and longer than finished quilt dimensions
- Suggested: Cutting mat
If hand quilting:
- Pearl cotton thread (size 8 or 5 are recommend)
- Embroidery Needles (size 6 or 7 if using size 8 pearl cotton thread, or size 5 or 6 if using size 5 pearl cotton thread)
- optional: thimble and large embroidery hoop
If machine quilting:
- quilting sewing machine needle
- additional 270+ yds of 40w or 50w cotton thread in a color of your choosing
- a walking foot for your sewing machine
- additional bobbins (one for each color of thread)
If purchasing the Quilt Top Only additional supplies needed include:
- quilt backing (54x54 is suggested)
- binding (6 yards)
